Responsibilities/Qualification

MacAulay-Brown, Inc., an Alion Company, is searching for a Systems Engineer for part-time (hourly) work to support a technical site survey and engineering assessment for the establishment of a modern command and control center for an overseas customer. The ideal candidate has a strong background and experience with IT and datacenter facilities, virtual desktop implementations (VDI), command and control programs and operations, and knowledge of security control programs such as NIST 8500/8510 and TEMPEST. The ideal candidate will also act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in USAF C2 programs (e.g. the Air Operations Center (AOC)) and have a breadth of knowledge with respect to the Theater Air Control System (TACS) concept. Familiarity with VMware vSphere 6.x is desired.

Tasks during this short-duration project will include: assessing facility power and HVAC capacity; estimating cabling and workstation positions; reviewing and recommending solutions for network designs and topologies; determining data feeds and interfaces for internal and external connections; evaluating and recommending solutions for remotely located workstations; and identifying and recommending security considerations. The SME will also review and make recommendations to functional architecture concepts to integrate TACS concepts as part of the final solution.

This work will be short-term (hourly rate) and will involve short-term travel outside the continental United States (OCONUS).

KSAs:

At least five (5) years¿ experience with USAF command and control programs

At least five (5) years¿ experience with datacenter-level compute, storage, and networking equipment

At least three (3) years of system installation and implementation

A valid US passport

An active US SECRET clearance
