Position Summary

Insulet is looking for enthusiastic, team-focused individuals that want to help test great products for the diabetes-care industry and obtain experience in one of the fastest growing and most exciting medical device companies in the greater Boston area!

The Systems Engineering Recent Grad, Systems Design Verification, will be integral in the technical design and development of Insulet's products by supporting all phases of the Design Verification Process. The person in this position will be required to assist in the design, execution and reporting on engineering tests, for characterization and Design Verification, as well as participate in the documentation and resolution of product development issues.

The Position will report to the Systems Design Verification Leader, within the Mechanical / Materials / DV Test COE in Advanced Technology & Engineering located at Insulet's Headquarters in Acton, MA or satellite office in Billerica, MA.

Responsibilities

* Design, set up and run feasibility tests in an engineering laboratory environment.
* Strong focus on simulated use testing that simulates typical and non-typical use of the products by end users.
* Assist in / author product characterization and verification tests and report results.
* Perform Verification Testing on various products under development or existing commercial technologies.
* Author product issue records and process these to closure.
* Participate in Technical Reviews and Design Reviews.
* Independently evaluate and test potential risk cases and provide recommendations for resolution.
* Provide input toward long term improvements in process, equipment, and organization.
* Use and understand tools / products to become a subject matter expert and provide guidance to other team members.
* Contribute to Systems team efforts by performing other duties as required.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering from accredited University.
* Ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment
* Technical writing ability
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to follow written and verbal directions and procedures.
* Ability to generate and maintain accurate records.
* Personal computer skills, word processing, spreadsheet, database.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

* Demonstrated working knowledge of engineering principles and scientific methods.
* General understanding of medical devices or other safety-critical technologies; a strong plus
* Experience with software tools - Jira, Helix, Bamboo, Bitbucket; a strong plus.

Other Requirements:

* Transportation to and from the Acton or Billerica locations, as determined by project responsibilities.
* The focus work periods focus on weekdays and weekends, as necessary.
