Job Description

Responsibilities

This role will support the Engineering Directorate of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in all system engineering activities of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). Works within a team of senior functional leads to describe and justify engineering activities for congressional documentation and responses to the Government Accountability Office. This position requires excellent written and verbal skills as well as exceptional MS Office skills.

* Serve as a lead System Analyst in describing BMDS characteristics and capabilities to justify BMDS capabilities for Congress, GAO, and CAPE.
* Support development of budgeting descriptive summaries.
* Prepare issue papers, written assessments, briefings and recommendations.
* Draft information/decision papers and briefings.
* Prepare, receive, distribute, and manage responses to congressional, media, and external agency request for information.
* Attend senior-level meetings and provide write-up for senior leaders and agency partners.
* Prepare responses to requests for information from Congress and GAO to support MDA budget submissions and issue papers
* This is not a financial management position

New Hire Success Factors

* 30 days Support development of "Transition In" plan with understanding of ongoing activities. Identifies task order schedule and milestones. Establishes effective communication with the Prime contractor and government staff as appropriate.
* 60 days Successfully occupies full-leadership role.
* 90 days Fully compliant. Understands ongoing programs and anticipates new ones. Established a good working relationship with Prime and government personnel as required.

Qualifications

* Strong communication skills required. Experience in DoD acquisition and budgeting process and Missile Defense experience preferred. • Experience in a DoD Program Management office strongly desired.
* Strong MS Office skills required
* Experience interacting with senior executives
* Experience in fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
* Technical degree not required, but must be comfortable around technical discussions
* Secret Clearance required, Top Secret preferred
