Denver Zoo's IT department has an opportunity for a full time Systems Analyst to ensure the Zoo's enterprise applications are used efficiently and effectively to fulfill business objectives by delivering, supporting and providing end-user training. This includes troubleshooting applications, researching, testing and installing upgrades and working with business stakeholders and software vendors to define functional requirements for future enhancements or customizations. The Systems Analyst is also responsible for defining standard operating procedures and creating supporting documentation to safeguard the integrity and reliability of our core enterprise applications. Candidates should be customer service oriented, have two years of related work experience, a degree in a related field and the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

In this role, you will:

* Assist in the management, planning, design and development of Denver Zoo's Enterprise applications, including Ticketing/Point of Sale application (ATMS+), finance (Serenic Navigator), fundraising (Raiser's Edge), etc.
* Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and system goals and identify and resolve business systems issues.
* Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
* Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
* Assist in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
* Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
* Field incoming incident/request tickets from end users to resolve application issues.
* Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
* Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, vendors and end users.
* Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
* Work with internal stakeholders to define data import/export procedures and reporting requirements.
* Work with system owners to define data extraction and integration requirements for core enterprise applications.
* Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
* Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
* Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes.

The Successful Candidate will have the following qualifications:

* College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or related field.
* 2 years equivalent work experience.
* In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including Office 365.
* Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
* Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
* Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications.
* Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
* Highly self-motivated and directed.
* Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
* Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and manage projects.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Ability to conduct research into software development and delivery concepts, as well as technical application issues.
* Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
* Very strong customer service orientation.
* Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
* Experience with Point of Sale Applications, email marketing automation, SharePoint Online (desired).
* Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (desired).
* Experience with mobile app development (desired).
* Ability to extract information from various SQL databases for additional analysis (desired).
* Experience with Raiser's Edge Blackbaud (desired).
* Experience with Office 365 apps, i.e.: Teams, Planner, Flow (desired).
