WidePoint is seeking qualified applicants to staff our Systems Analyst position.

The Systems Analyst is responsible for the organization local and remote system/server installation and maintenance, Active Directory, Email, SAN and virtualization services, and overall baselines security to support the objectives of the company, minimizing downtime, ensuring data integrity and limiting exposure to threats. This position is also responsible for supporting Continuity of Operations Processes, Backup systems, Incident Response Plans and System Recovery testing. It is expected that the Systems Analyst sometimes supports coverage after hours and on weekends and is encouraged to leverage technologies to do so. The Systems Analyst reports to the Sr. Director of Infrastructure and Security.

Overall Job Duties:

* Assist in the Maintenance of overall Active Directory environment, group policy, account management life-cycle, domain controller health, etc.
* Maintain the virtual environment and SAN infrastructure
* Assist in management of all system patching and updates
* Perform server builds, baselines, vulnerability assessment and remediation
* Assist in and monitoring system logging and alerting
* Assist in management of vulnerability assessment, IDS, event correlation, and monitoring systems
* Assist in the implementation of system backups, business continuity, and DR strategies
* Assist in the management of voice services
* Assist in the management of email services
* Participate in on-call rotation to support 24x7 operation
* Provide effective documentation and communication of ongoing changes, configurations, and inventory
* Maintain awareness of current and future trends in technology and make recommendations as to infrastructure design and improvements.
* Maintain awareness of current and future industry threats and participate in team efforts to mitigate vulnerabilities and overall security risks

Required Skill-sets:

A good candidate for this position should have a multi-faceted set of skills with a broad background in the IT industry and at least 5 years of experience. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and/or supporting industry certifications are a plus, but not required. We need the candidate to be well versed with virtualization, storage technologies, MS Active Directory and supporting services, email, and telecom technologies. Background and skill-sets in network switching, routing and firewall services a plus. Skill set in Linux operating systems preferred. Experience in, and awareness of current industry security risks, trends and mitigation is a must. Experience with scripting and automation is a big plus as well. This candidate must be eligible to obtain a federal security clearance. Ideally we are looking for a person who has a passion for IT, thrives in a team environment as well as independently, and has an inclination towards good customer service.
