We have an immediate need for a Systems Administrator, Lead to support a prestigious government organization. As an emerging expert, the successful candidate provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. The candidate will be responsible for administering the enterprise's desktop compute environment, group policy management along with Application deployment and patch distribution. The candidate will also ensure system security and data integrity, providing full-spectrum support to enable reliable software distribution capabilities in support of our customer's mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements and maintains desktop application deployments, Operating System baselines, server/workstation updates and advises on enterprise policies. Operates within mission parameters to ensure that all workstations and servers have the appropriate system updates applied, thereby enhancing the security of the enterprise compute environment

Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Manages inter-site failover capabilities and intra-site clustering. Ensures efficient and reliable distribution of commonly employed applications through enterprise-wide deployments.

Reviews performance logs and monitors system performance.

Troubleshoots and resolves software and hardware stability problems, creates shell programs and utility scripts; performs configurations and adjustments to enhance database file capacity; monitors and executes automated and manual backup and restore processes. Generates reports as needed to present vulnerability compliance assessments.

Installs, configures and tests software packages related to the enterprise environment.

Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the Enterprise.

Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

Provides user support and may conducts user software and hardware training to formulate technology solutions and ensure the effective safeguarding and sharing of enterprise data.

Evaluates requests for hardware and software; researches and recommends solutions to technology needs, compatible with the client's technology architecture and infrastructure and resource constraints.

Performs and/or oversees daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Provides team leadership and technical guidance to less experienced systems administrators.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field and 7 years of related experience.

Practical experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable

Tier 2/3 support and issue resolution experience

Demonstrated knowledge administering Microsoft SCCM for patch and application distribution

Familiar with DoD security technical implementation guidelines (STIGs)

Demonstrated ability to safely and effectively deploy Group Policy Objects (GPOs)

Experience managing Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) a plus

Able to compile SCCM reports for leadership briefings

An active Yankee White clearance is required to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment you will be required to maintain a Yankee White clearance.
