Job Description

ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Administrator - Intermediate requiring a Background Check located in Silver Spring, MD. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense. In this role, you will be responsible for providing contractual administration, engineering and operations support of the Enhanced Security Administration Environment (ESAE) within NOAA OCIO-NOAA0100.

As the Systems Administrator - Intermediate, you will perform administration and engineering support of NOAA's secured Microsoft Active Directory environment to maintain best IT security practices that address the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requirement as mandated by the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards and DOC and NOAA security policies and procedures.

What is in it for you?

* Provide support in the administration and engineering support of a secured Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining the security of complex computing systems, to include research, requirements gathering, design, documenting, configuration, backup/recovery, and securing all respective computing systems.
* Provide support services using Microsoft Active Directory services in an enterprise environment and IT security principles. Network security tasks will include work with Cisco technologies, routers, firewalls, and switches. Contractor will provide Cyber Security service to avoid exploits, and perform authentication of events. Contractor will work in compliance ISO 270002, NIST, COBIT, and etc. Contractor work will include developing, implementing, and communicating security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. Work will require an ability to provide detailed communication to management and peers, the ability to work independently, and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
* Recommend, analyze, assess, and implement requirements in a flexible and innovative manner, maintaining currency with laws, regulations, policies, and rules while also implementing state-of-the-art technologies and advancements.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Under general supervision, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
* Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
* Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
* Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
* Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
* Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
* Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
* Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
* Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
* Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.

* Bachelor's Degree
* Microsoft Active Directory - 5+ years
* Microsoft Windows Server 2016 - 5+ years
* SQL 2016 - 5+ years
* SCOM 2016 - 5+ years
* Microsoft Excel 2013 - 5+ years

Preferred Qualifications:

* SSCM - System Center Configuration Manager
* Information Systems Security experience
* Virtual servers and/or virtual computing technologies
* FEP- Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection
* PKI and/or CAC technologies and integration
* MDT - Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
