Program Description
DCAPES is the Air Force Command and Control (C2) system to plan and execute major combat operations and operations other than war. Provides war-planners the ability to identify Air and Space assets to meet Combatant Command (COCOM) requirements. Provides all USAF echelons with real-time C2 planning and execution information supporting the USAF manpower, personnel, operations and logistics force presentation and execution
processes.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The successful candidate will provide hands on system administration of the operationally fielded DCAPES and LOGFAC systems residing in the DECC. This includes DCAPES and LOGFAC instances supporting test, training and help desk; troubleshoot user identified deficiencies; validate developer delivered deficiency correction.
* Track the performance of all DCAPES and LOGFAC instantiations to detect problems with the system meeting performance parameters and initiate corrective actions prior to an operational impact; monitor system performance and optimize system operations and resource utilization
* Monitor system status, e.g., Computer Processing Unit (CPU) utilization, File changes, File system, memory, processes, equipment environmental conditions.
* Perform database-specific monitoring, e.g., Processes, File changes, Distributed database links; perform application monitoring, e.g., Processes, Key queues, Core files, expiring certificates;
* Provide support for preparation of technical implementation plans for emerging DCAPES and LOGFAC releases; provides assistance to users in accessing and using DCAPES and LOGFAC applications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for the following skill set:
* Advanced Degree (MA/MS) in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline and 12 years of experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD, or
* BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD, or,
* 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD.
* Active Top Secret clearance
