Job Description

The Systems Administrator I supports and maintains physical and virtual servers, using a variety of technologies, such as Windows Server, VMWare, vSphere, Citrix XenApp, MS SQL, Exchange, and others. Provides Tier-3 technical support to IT staff and non-technical staff for OS and server applications. Promotes and practices adherence to Information Security policies and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Proposes and implements configuration changes; maintains network systems and software by following established guidelines for configuration management.
* Monitors systems daily and responds immediately to issues and alerts.
* Performs system administration functions, including, but not limiting to monitoring systems, reviewing hardware, server alerts, system and application logs, applying application patches and upgrading systems and applications for optimal network performance.
* Validates backups and performs restores of data.
* Supports anti-malware, anti-spam, and security information management systems by updating, testing, implementing and validating software; determines root causes and ensures issue resolutions.
* Implements and maintains applications in physical server, virtual server, and Citrix XenApp environments.
* Supports end-users as required to provide a positive customer experience.
* Documents and performs maintenance on production network and adhere to change management policies and procedures.
* Backfills and supports other team members when needed during business hours or after scheduled work hours.
* Develops documentation for systems administration procedures.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* At least 1 year relevant experience in a Windows 2003/2008/2012 server environment.
* Advanced skills with Windows Desktop and Server OS, MS Server Applications, and MS Desktop Applications.
* Advanced troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with web-based and hosted (cloud) applications.
* Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (O365) is a plus
* Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
