THE OPPORTUNITY: Mutual Trust Life Insurance Company is looking to hire a Systems Administrator to join our Network & Systems team. The Systems Administrator is an essential position in implementing strategic business function server-based applications and their associated databases for availability, performance, security and recoverability. This requires the application of system-analysis techniques and consulting with users to evaluate, design, test and maintain systems, which includes server-side provisioning and network storage allocation. This position assists management with documenting our annual IT financial systems audit. Additionally, the position is key to enhancing customer service by assisting the Help Desk with level II and III issues and requests, as well as assisting the Network Administrators with server, storage and network projects.

Our Systems Administrator contributes to the Company's annual sales goals by ensuring that our mission critical and time-sensitive server-based systems are configured for optimal performance and availability, and by ensuring that more complex Help Desk issues are resolved quickly. This enhances the level of service that Mutual Trust employees provide to our agents and policyholders, which increases customer satisfaction, encourages persistency and new business. This also has a positive effect on our operational costs, which contributes to our profitability.

THE JOB:

* Supports our insurance administration system, document imaging system, document production system and departmental specific financial applications with associated databases (e.g. accounting, reinsurance, & valuation systems).
* Create, backup/recover, copy, monitor, secure and tune databases.
* Install application database definitions, tables, and security.
* Participate in the creation and maintenance of backup plans, stored procedures and control scripts.
* Schedule and track upgrades and changes to database applications.
* Secures private customer information via data encryption.
* Works with Help Desk to coordinate client-side software installation.


* Supports SkyBot job scheduling system for computer operations and Information Services.
* Participate in technology evaluations and implementation of the technologies to meet business needs when required.
* Assists in documenting the configuration, installation, and disaster recovery procedures and in test recovery exercises.
* Adheres to departmental hardware/software standards and procedures.
* Communicates applicable technology trends to Technical Services and Information Services management and staff.
* Provides backup coverage for Network Administrators positions.
* Supports Vulnerability patching and Hardware/Software Inventory system.
* Administers WiFi system.
* Manage phishing defense center. Administer authorized phishing simulations and monitor reported emails.
* Provision mobile devices.

YOUR PROFILE:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
* 2 years of experience with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server.
* Professional level writing, editing and communication skills, as demonstrated by the ability to convey complex information and concepts in a clear concise manner.
* Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to adapt to change and meet tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in Active Directory, Microsoft Server administration.
* Working knowledge of Patch Management and Inventory systems.
* Working knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Server Virtualization technology.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact and develop relationships with diverse audiences.
* Ability to manage competing priorities as well as several tasks and projects simultaneously.
* Proven self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn new procedures and take ownership of assignments.
* Dependable and the ability to meet tight schedules and deadlines.
* Organized and logical with an attention to detail.
* Positive, creative and high-energy individual.
* Learning agility as demonstrated by ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
* Enjoys working in teams, as well as on own.
* Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to take a vague non-technical description and carry forward to a solution.
* Flexible to work after business hours or during weekends when necessary.

Preferences:

* Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL administration.
* Basic knowledge of scripting languages, HTML, Visual Basic (VB) and Java a plus
