Job Overview In Wireless R&D (WR&D), we are working on building the cutting-edge end-to-end prototype systems for 5G NR Sub6. These will be used not only to prove out new 5G ideas and features but also to provide a platform for early demonstrations. We are looking for a self-starter and motivated individual who wants to take his/her cellular experience to the next level. You will be contributing to the latest ideas and developments in mobile wireless and working with world leading experts to shape the future of wireless communication. SI&T team members interact closely with Systems engineers, Software/Hardware developers and RF engineers to test and evaluate the end-to-end prototypes. This includes defining testing goals, writing test plans, executing tests, trouble shooting and performing detailed post processing analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in testing, enjoy working in a lab environment, drive testing (Over the Air testing), be proactive, and have a hands-on approach to work assignments. Prime responsibilities will be System integration and test of L1, L2 and L3 layers as well as technology demonstrations. Candidates must have great interest in new technologies and willing to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required and must be able to work well with others in a technical environment. Some travel for tradeshows, demos may be required. All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Preferred Qualifications -Knowledge of LTE PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC protocols are required. -Knowledge of IP, UDP, TCP, HTTP protocols and analysis tools such as Wireshark is required. -Experience with test equipment such as Channel emulator, Spectrum analyzers and Signal generators is required. -3+ years of relevant industry experience is required. -Strong fundamentals in Communications Theory is preferred. -Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic team environment. -Background in Wireless communication is preferred. -Programming skills in PERL and/or Python is preferred. -Programming skills in MATLAB is preferred. -Knowledge of 5G NR/OFDMA including PHY/MAC/RLC/PDCP/RRC of 5GNR is a plus. -Knowledge of Qualcomm QXDM, JTAG debugger is a plus. Education Requirements Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
