We are seeking an engineer and/or analyst to engineer and analyze several air and ballistic missile defense planning tools throughout all phases of the development lifecycle on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and U.S. Navy Air and Missile Defense (AMD) systems. As a member of our team, you will work within a culture in which innovation is inspired, encouraged, and supported. We collaborate with a wide range of staff with various academic backgrounds, and experience levels to make direct contributions to the development of creative ideas to tackle critical engineering challenges.

As a system engineer and/or system analyst for mission planning tools you will...

* Contribute throughout the system lifecycle of multiple air and missile defense planning tools including:
* Identifying challenges and gaps in air and ballistic missile defense.
* Conducting research, studies, and analysis to develop and explore concepts to address these challenges.
* Designing, implementing, documenting, and testing prototype solutions to challenges/gaps (e.g., algorithms, visualizations).
* Defining system architecture using MBSE.
* Defining and analyze system requirements and documents.
* Utilizing system models and simulations for analysis; and develop software tools for analysis.
* Produce documentation to collect all contributions in order to effectively communicate proposed concepts/solutions and analysis results.
* Develop and deliver formal presentations to sponsors and the engineering community.
* You will also provide subject matter expertise for real world scenarios facing our military by conducting research, preforming studies and analysis to translate your supporting data into actionable information and associated recommendations for U.S. Navy and MDA decision makers.

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

* Have M.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Applied Math, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent
* Have 5 or more years of experience in engineering, designing, and analyzing systems including conducting analysis with MATLAB, Python, R (i.e., R Project for Statistical Computing), or equivalent and developing system requirements and architecture descriptions
* Prove success working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
* Demonstrate success in working in an engineering team size of 3 or more people
* Possess strong communication skills in both written and verbal
* Are willing and able to travel occasionally and work in closed areas
* Hold an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

* Have experience working with and domain expertise associated with United States Navy military systems
* Have a Ph. D. degree in Systems Engineering, Applied Math, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent
* Have 10 or more years of experience in engineering, designing, and analyzing systems including developing analysis tools with MATLAB, Python, R (i.e., R Project for Statistical Computing), or equivalent and developing system requirements and architecture descriptions with MBSE languages such as SysML
* Demonstrate success in working in an engineering team size of 5 or more people
* Possess excellent verbal communication skills including proven success in building/presenting technical presentations to engineering review teams as well as sponsor review teams
* Are willing and able to travel occasionally and work in closed areas
* Have or are able to obtain Top Secret or TS/SCI level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
