Job Description

Position Summary

The primary function of this position is to assist First Atlantic Federal Credit Union to live out our Mission to provide best value financial services to members by providing outstanding service to both members and internal members. In addition, under the direction of the IS & T Manager directs and coordinates activities of computers, networks and enhancing the organizations utilization of those items by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:

Essential Responsibilities

* Install and configure software and hardware
* Manage network servers and technology tools
* Manage data integrity/backups
* Set up accounts and workstations
* Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
* Troubleshoot issues and outages
* Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
* Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
* Respond to and resolve help desk requests
* Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
* Review application logs
* Install and test computer-related equipment
* Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
* Upgrade systems with new releases and models
* Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
* Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies

Qualifications

* Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
* Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
* Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
* Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
* Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
* Excellent communication skills
* BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a plus
