Job Description

We are looking for a Studio Support Technician to join our Technical Operations team in Seattle, focused on maintaining computer systems in a photography and video production studio. This position is responsible for daily support of Mac systems, and various software and hardware used by our creative production teams. The position will also perform some digital asset management and server maintenance, with guidance. This role is a consistent thread of technology support for studio personnel and customers. A strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques and an ability to work with end-users is a must.

Your daily activities will include management of hardware and software, testing of new tool deployment, and diligent upkeep of existing systems. You will also work to understand and improve data movement and backup in a unique studio environment, and make this part of ongoing operational process. You will work across technical and producer teams to document best practices, train users, report status, and represent improvement feedback.

As this role will ultimately be supporting video and photo production teams, the ideal candidate should have a background working in creative agency or media production environments. It will work directly with production managers, studio managers, imaging techs and producers. Strong communication skills are necessary, as well as a customer-service attitude and strategic mindset. This role exists to enhance our studio's function and operation, thus allowing our production team to concentrate on meeting deadlines and delivering world class creative.

Basic Qualifications

Self starter that can operate with autonomy and discretion

4+ years experience supporting software and hardware in a media production or agency environment

Advanced knowledge of Mac operating systems and troubleshooting their respective hardware/software. Knowledge of Windows operating systems is a plus

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One or Lightroom, and various creative tools

Knowledge of standard video and photo file formats, and file management practices

Basic understanding of networking principles

Preferred Qualifications

Apple certifications

BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

Intermediate or expert level experience with Capture One software and strong knowledge DIT/Digitech onset workflows

Advanced knowledge of asset management practices within servers and direct attached storage volumes, with familiarity of cloud-based systems

Familiarity with video and photo cameras, and video post-production technology
