Job Description: Germanna Community College is accepting applications for a flexible, detail orientated individual to provide part-time evening and weekend support for the Student Technical Help Desk and provide support for Innovative Instruction & Technology department staff, faculty, and students at the Fredericksburg Area Campus. The successful candidate shall possess technical skills, customer support experience, preferably in an academic setting, the ability to troubleshoot problems, and the ability to learn new information/skills quickly. Candidates must be proficient in the Microsoft and Google Office suites, use of a modern telephone system, use of database systems, and the use of modern online systems. Duties include, but are not limited to troubleshooting and answers student technical questions over the phone and through email. Salary: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour, 29 hours per week. (State benefits do not apply) Position is open until filled with a first review of applications on June 17, 2019. Special Requirements: Any offer of employment will be contingent upon an acceptable background investigation and reference check. Minimum Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Ability to work independently and to solve problems
* Demonstrated ability to provide directions and to answer questions from students and faculty regarding data management software, Learning Management system, Student Information System, Gmail, and programs related to teaching and learning
* Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft computer applications, and the Windows operating system
* Requires excellent customer service skills utilized through multiple contact avenues, including telephone, in-person, and email
* Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized workspace and organized records
* Have considerable knowledge of personal computers, and current software applications, including online services
* Possess the ability to prioritize a daily workload, the ability to multitask
* Have excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Two years of experience at a higher education institution or two years of experience in a technical help desk.
* Experience with the Canvas Learning Management System and Peoplesoft databases.
