Job Description

Summary

The primary function of this position is to perform configuration work for computer, server, and point of sale equipment. A secondary function of this position is to perform testing, troubleshooting, and hardware repair of this same equipment. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Role and Responsibilities Primary

* System deployment: imaging OS installation and updates, activating Windows, joining machines to domain, updating group policy, installing and configuring applications, setting TCP/IP networking parameters, installing printers, etc.
* Mobile devices: configuring Apple, iPods, Windows, and Android-based mobile devices, joining devices to WLAN, connecting devices to MDM server, verifying all required applications are installed, configuring application setting, etc.
* Peripheral devices: configuring communication setting on MFP printers

Secondary Responsibilities

* Hardware testing, troubleshooting, and repair of the below equipment
* Laptop and desktop computers
* Point of sale computers
* Mobile devices
* Point of sale peripheral devices receipt printers, barcode scanners, and cash drawers
* Digital and VoIP phone receipt printers, barcode scanners, etc.
* Networking consolidating into routers and switches, loading configuration files, verifying configurations, etc.



Required Skills

* Must be CompTIA A+ certified and/or have equivalent experience and knowledge
* Must be CompTIA Network+ certified and/or have equivalent experience and knowledge
* Other industry standard certifications (Microsoft, Cisco) are desired, but not required
* 2+ years with the configuration and troubleshooting of Windows 7 & 8.1 computers
* Previous experience with Windows Server platforms preferred, but not required
* Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking a must
* Working knowledge of wireless networking
* 2+ years of experience with hardware testing, troubleshooting, and repair of computer hardware
* Previous experience working with point of sale hardware preferred, but not required
* Previous experience working with routers and switches preferred, but not required
* Detail-oriented all work performed must be logged and all time must be tracked
* Ability to understand and follow process documentation
* Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced environment
* Ability to quickly adapt to changing business requirements
