Job Summary

MedMen's Engineering team is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer with a background in building enterprise grade applications. The ideal candidate will serve as a resource across many new initiatives including our rewards program and delivery services. The Staff Software Engineer will be expected to independently make architecture decisions, optimize application code and to be up to date with state-of-the-art development guidelines.

Job Functions

* Contributes to the architecture and development of internal and customer-facing applications and systems
* Takes ownership of projects and works closely with various business partners and product stakeholders to ensure project success
* Understands the direct business goals of the project at hand and steers technology direction to meet those goals
* Provides leadership on the team and leads by example, through mentorship, and with extensive collaboration

Basic Qualifications

* At least 8 years of experience delivering software solutions
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or applicable experience
* Experience working with Agile project management methodologies such as SCRUM
* Knowledge of software engineering practices such as version control, branching, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration and deployment
* Skills building applications in .NET Core/C# or Express/Node
* Experience architecting cloud-native applications in Azure or AWS
* Experience with serverless technologies such as Azure Functions or AWS Lambda
* Skills building APIs using GraphQL as well as managing high-traffic modern APIs

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with micro-services application architecture
* Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes containerization technologies
* Knowledgable across caching and search technologies such as Redis and Azure Search
* Experience with the management of cloud infrastructure using technologies such as Terraform, ARM, or Ansible
* Experience with data modeling tools and techniques
* Excellent verbal and written communication tailored to appropriate audiences
* Ability to function highly independently and juggle competing priorities

Supervisory Responsibility

* Provide direction to other individuals.
* Supervises staff, including hiring, scheduling and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
* Manages others through subordinate supervisors.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional corporate setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.)
