Job Description

Role Summary:The Staff Lifecycle Operations Engineer will be responsible for the standardization and management of global processes that define support for our regional teams and customers, data models and allowed methods of access. This person will contribute to a team which is dynamic, innovative and supports all GEHC modalities.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

Engage with engineering and service regional teams to develop solutions to support evolving business needs, maintain global operational data models, and ensure infrastructure availability

Maintain and improve current global data creation, management & access processes

Interface with support team to capture requirements and issues

Implement, test, and validate all changes released by the vendor

Collaborate with senior technology leadership to develop creative solutions to meet business requirement and deliver on time and in budget

Develop remediation plans and communicate potential impacts to required stakeholders

Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and assist in resolving them in collaboration with production support & IaaS provider.

Assist platform technology leadership & information security teams to ensure the production infrastructure remains secure and all data privacy requirements are met.

Be available to respond to service availability issues and resolve them round the clock.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualification:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Minimum of 6 years related experience

Eligibility requirement:

GE will not sponsor visas for this role

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

Solid understanding of cloud solution approaches from a technical (infrastructure), service management, financial and sourcing perspective

Knowledge/experience in Cloud Technologies

Hands-on experience in 24x7x365 technical operations or SaaS Operations preferred

Strong experience in programming and processes. Software & web application development experience - hands on with any programming or scripting language (preferably shell/perl/python/C/C++/.NET or Java) is highly desirable

Business Acumen:

Highly Experienced in Project and Program Management

Has demonstrated the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

Leadership:

Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver while working in a matrixed organization

Effective communication skills and creative problem-solving abilities

Strong analysis and problem solving skills

Personal Attributes:

Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

Able to ensure understanding of issues and present clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Can use two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Effective written and spoken communication skills.

Experience working with globally distributed teams and across cultures

Self-driven. Should be able to operate with minimal management supervision

Mission critical systems experience is preferred

Demonstrated experience of delivering on commitments to clients.

Works well in fast paced growing environment.

Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.

Willing to quickly self-learn new technologies/products as needed

Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practices.
