Job Description

Staff IT Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Scope, plan, design, and deliver system components, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS)
* Designing, developing, and supporting ecommerce applications using the WebSphere Commerce Framework
* Extending the core commerce framework services to implement new services
* Implementing APIs based on REST web services
* Execute the full software development lifecycle, including design, build, test, deployment, administration and maintenance of platforms
* Work with business analysts to translate business and functional requirements (user stories) into high quality agile technical requirements
* Create technical architecture requirements, including data, integration, and system context models
* Support business and technical teams by troubleshooting and resolving development and production defects by looking into the logs using various debugging tools
* Participate in testing sessions, including integrated testing cycles, performance testing, security testing, and user acceptance testing
* Provide estimates for software development efforts
* Recommend solutions by identifying advantages and disadvantages of proposed solutions
* Manage code deployment process across environments and support production releases
* Develop software components that meet standards of quality and architecture, including the documentation and implementation of unit tests, scripts and test harnesses
* Participate in workshops, trainings, and code review meetings

Technical Skills:

* Expertise in designing, building and supporting web applications using Java
* Expertise in designing scalable, high performance schemas for Online Transaction Processing using both traditional RDBMS (SQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
* Relevant experience in SQL, REST, SOAP, JEE, and JavaScript (JSON/XML)
* Strong working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
* Strong skills in core web technologies including XML and JSP, and Web Services development using RESTful implementations
* Deep understanding of Java, JEE, servlets and JSP, tag libraries, combined with a strong understanding of enterprise Java frameworks
* Proficient in Adobe AEM foundational concepts, including the OAK repository, the AEM platform, and the use of core frameworks
* Solid understanding of all Adobe AEM building blocks, including templates, components, dialogs, widgets etc., and the AEM development and deployment process

Experience:

* 8+ years full SDLC experience utilizing Java
* 8+ years experience in Web Development
* 3+ year experience with IBM WebSphere Commerce
* 1+ years experience with Adobe CQ / Adobe AEM
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
* Experience with software testing processes including the creation and execution of test scripts
* Knowledge of good practice around usability, maintainability and accessibility
* Demonstrated execution of projects within a large organization
* Professional maturity and presentations skills

Preferred Educational Background:

* BS/MS in computer science, engineering or related technical degree, MBA a plus

Preferred Experiential Background:

* Scientific background
* Experience developing public-facing websites
* Experience with build tool, Jenkins, and life cycle management tools like Jira and ValGenesis
