We are seeking a principal level embedded software engineer who wants to be part of a team that is helping to provide solutions to our nation's defense.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

* Design, develop and test complex embedded software
* Deliver high quality software design, documentation and implementation that meet defined requirements as well as support products throughout the life cycle
* Collaborate with team members across multiple engineering disciplines including Systems, Electrical and Firmware
* Be an active participant in bids and proposals for new business
* Active contributor to streamlining department processes and adopting industry best practices
* Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications

Mandatory Job Qualifications:

Applicants must have all of the following to be considered for this position:

* BS in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
* 10-20 years' experience with a minimum of 5 years with Linux and kernel level development in embedded systems
* Demonstrated experience with C and C++
* Demonstrated knowledge/experience with microprocessor (single and/or multi-core) and microcontroller based designs
* Experience with standard software practices such as requirements management (e.g. DOORs), source control management, IDEs, unit testing, and code reviews
* Device driver experience with standard serial protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB)
* Demonstrated experience with any of the standard transports (1/10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), PCIe, Fiber Channel, Serial Rapid IO or similar)
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills required
* Ability to work alone or on a team setting
* Ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance
* Fully skilled in MS programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
* Travel up to 20%

Highly Desired Job Qualifications:

* Active DOD SECRET clearance
* Familiar with other high level languages such as Python.
* Exposure to Simulink and/or MATLAB
* Image processing experience such as OpenCV, OpenCL or similar
* Knowledge/experience of DO-178 life cycle development
* Knowledge/experience of VxWorks OS
* Knowledge/experience with Assembly
* Knowledge/experience: TCP/IP, and routing/switching
