Job Description

Amazon's Last Mile Technology team is seeking an experienced security-focused TPM to help ensure our delivery technology is secure and robust. The Last Mile Technology team supports multiple businesses globally, creating the technology that supports deliveries for businesses such as Prime Now, Amazon Flex, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Logistics, and other new initiatives.

Security of our systems is critical, and in this role you will be responsible for setting up a security program to assess, prioritize, and manage security risks across our organization. You will develop and foster new and creative ways to drive awareness and provide automation and mechanisms to provide protections without placing too much friction on innovation to delight our customers. You will identify risks in the environment and ensure that they are quantified and communicated such that appropriate actions can be taken. You will identify and implement controls to maintain the security of our environment and use mechanisms like scorecards to drive the needed behavior within system and data owners through building trust, persuasion and influence. You will manage technical projects as needed to decrease risks.

In this role you will:

1) Assess the organization's existing IT security program, work products, and tools in relation to key organizational security goals, policies, and objectives

2) Architect and implement sustainable security solutions designed to address program gaps

3) Assess and articulate risk in relation to business and technical processes

4) Develop a broad understanding of the businesses objectives and system dependencies.

5) Work independently, seeking guidance as needed. You partner with the manager and other engineering teams to deliver complex/cross-functional projects in the information security field.

The right candidate will possess a strong technical security background, with experience managing an enterprise-level security program. The candidate will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects across multiple teams, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
