OVERVIEW:

SRC is searching for a strong, qualified candidate to provide on-site software test support for the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC) Mission System (JMS) program to develop and deliver customized commercial aerospace software to the Systems Integrator in San Diego, CA. JMS is an enterprise system of applications that provides automated, real-time correlation, integration, and net-centric data distribution for satellite orbital data. JMS provides Space Situational Awareness (SSA) enabling military commanders to make rapid and responsive decisions to protect space assets from threats (adversary and environmental, including debris). Testing will be conducted at the government's facility near Point Loma (San Diego), CA, or SRC facilities in Colorado Springs CO, and then transition to Vandenberg Air Force Base CA.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing test procedures, plans and executing system regression tests, and generating reports for the customer

* Creating test reports, out briefs, and status reports to senior management and the customer
* Will use test system and associated GOTS and COTS software such as Windows 10, Red Hat Linux, and Oracle Database to collect, interpret, and analyze test data from informal developmental debug tests to formal qualification tests
* Identifying and troubleshooting system anomalies, and document and report findings.
* Supporting and coordinating fixes with software developers
* Maintaining skills current with trends in industry and the government and keeps abreast of new developments in their field in order to best support and advise the customers
* Analyzing existing systems and defines, designs, and develops new system requirements

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have 5+ years prior work experience in the defense, aerospace and/or commercial space industry
* Requires expertise with system engineering, coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system
* Demonstrated experience with best practices for software testing and formal requirements-based testing
* Ability to work proficiently in a team or independently
* Certifications or experience with software and toolsets including TestComplete, SOAP UI, SQL Developer and VMware; familiarity of XML and other scripting languages
* Familiarity with Agile software development methodology and collaboration tools like JIRA or Remedy
* This position requires a U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TOP SECRET level, and you must be eligible for award of such a clearance
* Ability to effectively communicate via verbal and written correspondence with senior management, technical staff, and other stakeholders

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

* Operational or technical experience with SSA systems including SPADOC and CAVENet
* Testing experience with DoD Command and Control (C2) systems or applications a plus
* Knowledge and experience of space surveillance, space control, missile warning systems a plus

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

* ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED UPON HIRE
* Must meet DOD IAT II requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

* A bachelor's or master degree in aerospace engineering, physics, systems engineering, software engineering, or related discipline

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: YES Candidates should expect to travel approximately 20% of the time to Vandenberg AFB (VAFB) CA or SRC facilities in Colorado Springs CO
