Summary:

The Senior Test Analyst will perform analysis of documented user requirements and assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements. The Senior Test Analyst review user application system requirements documentation; design, define and document unit and application test plans; transform test plans into test scripts and execute those scripts. Additionally, the Senior Test Analyst will ensure that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results and deviations from documented user requirements are reported.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Work as part of an Appian Development Team to understand requirements, document test plans, test scripts/cases, and test results
* Work with developers at all stages to promote quality - this is a new software development project
* Produce test plans, test reports and ensure they are followed and adhere to project standards and requirements
* Test activity includes the development of test plans, procedures, and test/evaluation reports to support various stages of testing (e.g., unit, integration, system, performance, functional qualification, and acceptance) for all initial and updated increments/releases and components
* Manage bugs in JIRA, write acceptance criteria
* Reproduce JIRA bug reports from the field and write clear steps to reproduce
* Run and develop FitNesse regression testing
* Verify the load, scalability, and performance requirements have been met
* Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis
* Execute of test cases and document results
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

* Bachelor's degree required and 8 years of relevant experience
* Additional experience may be used in lieu of a degree
* Additional education or relevant higher-level certifications may be used in lieu of experience.
* 5 years of experience in performing quality control, quality assurance, change, configuration, and release management processes.
* 5 years' experience with testing strategies including Unit Test, Integration Test, Performance test, regression test, acceptance test, etc.
* 3 years' experience in version control, build development, continuous integration, and deployments.
* 3 years' experience coordinating among individuals and groups in a complex time- sensitive environment.
* 3 years' experience with understanding and proficiency of automated testing tools.
* Experience with Agile and/or Federal software development environments preferred.
* 508 Testing experience preferred.
* Must either possess Secret level clearance or have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
* Possess and maintain a valid state operator's license.
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
* Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or on-call support.
* Demonstrates ability to analytically address complex problems, process critical data, establish facts, and draw quality conclusions.
* Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze system functionality with customer and resolve production issues.
* Ability to work well under pressure, some tight deadlines and with ambiguity on some projects
* Experience with systems and software architecture.

* The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
* During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
