Job Description

The primary duties of the role include identifying, researching and piloting new technologies to identify the right solutions to bring to the Commercial Development (CD) organization. In addition, the role will evaluate emerging technologies for value to our business model. The successful candidate will bring an entrepreneurial spirit to the role and have the flexibility to respond to ever changing opportunities.

The position is a "hands-on", self-directed role that requires continuous engagement within a matrix organization. As collaboration and relationship building are critical to success, travel will be required to influence meaningful change to the business.

The individual must be a technical leader that has experience researching and understanding the technology market space and will contribute to developing sound business plans for recommendations that comply with Skanska's Group IT policy.

What you'll do…

* Partner with key leaders in the organization to document and understand current state processes. Individual will leverage skills to highlight opportunities and make recommendations for process optimization.


* Organize and facilitate discovery sessions and complete required documentation.


* Understand Skanska's technology portfolio for existing solutions and platforms. Conduct interviews with IT, application specialists and leaders from other business unit's to build knowledge base to inform future planning for US Commercial Development.


* Identify opportunities to leverage existing platforms and solutions to increase ROI and add value to our business.


* Prepare recommendations and proposals to present to the Commercial Development Senior Leadership Team that align priorities and strategic goals.


* Scope, define, and design solution offerings, driving end-to-end implementation.


* Lead interface between the business, technical vendors, internal Skanska teams


* Stay abreast of new technology/technical areas and educate internal stakeholders on same. Translate customer needs and identify technology opportunities.


* Develop detailed technical offerings, solutions, and business proposals.


* Ensure proper execution and management of the solution life cycle, from strategic planning to tactical execution, including business case creation, business plan, offering definition, materials development, pricing, delivery readiness, and sales training.


* Support internal and external stakeholders in successful deployment of solutions.


* Work with customers, team members, technology partners, vendors, and operational stakeholders to prioritize roadmap features and spearhead the definition and delivery of new solutions. Lead customer interface for technical discussions at a national level.


* Explore, develop, pilot and systematically launch new technology and work processes in close collaboration with planning and operations teams; Establishing credibility with leaders as a valuable resource for business and Skanska IT


* Translate requirements into clearly defined and easily understood documents



Deep analytical skills

Designing a solution requires understanding how different parts of the business work together. The individual must recognize the corporate strategy and realize all business processes that define how a company achieves its strategic goals. The solution consultant must also understand technical specifics and move between various business layers.

Technical background and experience

To provide management and technical teams with sound guidance, the candidate must have a technical background with at least 10 years of work experience in one or more IT areas including but not limited to:

* IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud development


* Engineering and software architecture design


* Business analysis


* DevOps

* Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, subject matter experts and business users. As well as internal and external developers and technical services team.


* Proven leadership, negotiation and relationship management skills


* Excellent presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate to varying levels of organizational management



Qualifications we seek...

* Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information technology or management information systems and 10+ years related work experience. Master's degree preferred.


* 5-7 years of specific experience leading technical consulting within an organization that focused on identifying, recommending and implementing solutions successfully.


* Project Management experience desired
