About Amazon

Job Description

Are you seeking a creative environment where you can influence the vision, define a plan of execution, and help deliver the next generation of software systems that will support Amazon's fulfillment needs? Do innovative next generation projects excite you?

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers that move many millions of units of inventory, employ tens of thousands of people, and ensure that customers get what they want when we promised we would get it to them. We do this by building automated solutions to handle things that technology does well, while relying on people to handle things that humans do well.

We use innovative technologies to simplify the process by taking advantage of materials handling automation, machine vision, robotics, and machine learning. Our highly scalable distributed systems are designed to handle billions of transactions a year. We are seeking an innovative, intellectually curious, results-oriented technology leader who will be responsible for driving our product roadmap, software development and operations of our systems. In this position, you will guide the efforts of developers across multiple locations as we build the next generation of Amazon's Fulfillment Centers.

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you'll collaborate with software engineers, financial stakeholders, product management and operations teams to design, develop, and then deploy a large scale Big Data platform. You will be responsible for the entire life cycle of systems under development, including requirements, program management and prioritization. You are a self-starter who is comfortable working independently with little direction. You enjoy working with complex hardware and software systems, are customer centric, and thrive on the challenge of implementing solutions at a scale only Amazon can offer.

You will work directly with our business teams and stakeholders to understand and document requirements, understand problem space and drive prioritization with various engineering teams. You will work with our engineering teams to deep dive on system design, drive roadmaps and prioritization.
