Job Description

Risk Mining Analytics (RMA), a team in Amazon's Transaction Risk Management Systems (TRMS) org, is looking for a passionate, results-oriented Senior Technical Program Manager to drive delivery of projects with large strategic impact. RMA's mission is to combine Data Science and Machine Learning techniques with investigator insights to detect negative customer experience, improve system effectiveness, and prevent bad debt across Amazon. The team is responsible for identifying and mitigating fraud that emerges in patterns and quick fashion.

Fraud prevention is a real-money game where our software and analytics teams strive to outsmart those who attempt to defraud Amazon and our customers. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will drive innovative, customer-focused fraud prevention solutions to protect Amazon's customers and sellers around the globe. A successful candidate will have a software development and/or advanced analytics background with excellent problem solving, influencing, project management and communication skills. This role requires working closely with teams across TRMS to define strategy and requirements, and then leading projects through design and delivery. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy. Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential.

Responsibilities

* Manage multiple complex cross-team projects end-to-end, from design to delivery
* Work across TRMS operations, engineering, analytics, and machine learning teams to define, communicate and prioritize requirements for high-impact analytics and engineering initiatives
* Create business cases to enable effective policy decisions and resource allocation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Operate and thrive with partial information and ambiguity and create structure for the teams and projects you lead
* Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, analyze and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
* Define and build metrics to track performance and identify areas of improvement for your programs in coordination with partner teams
