Overview

The Sr. Technical Architect (WMS) participates in all aspects of the technical deliverables within a program/project to architect software solutions that meet the customer's business requirements and generate maximum value for customers. They may work on multiple programs/projects simultaneously within one or more industry verticals, and/or may work on multiple applications. The Technical Consultant provides direction to the on-site team on the technical design and definition and execution of related business process workflows that accompany the solution. This is a US Virtual role with up to 75% travel required.

Responsibilities

* Conducts technical analysis sessions with clients and/or the project team to understand the functional and technical needs of the client and develops technical solutions to meet those needs.
* Works with all levels of JDA associates and staff support functions in developing specifications, analyzing user needs, testing and developing solutions as necessary
* Analyzes and optimizes components to take advantage of project specific databases and system configurations.
* Works with the appropriate parties to effectively estimate project timelines.
* Works with JDA Management/Team Lead to provide timely, appropriate level of communication with respect to the work assigned.
* Works with appropriate parties to ensure issues are resolved.
* Provides technical expertise on development projects.
* Provides a variety of technical support to the project team; including quality assurance/design review, environment setup, operations consulting, troubleshooting, system testing, programming, etc.
* Conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times with JDA customers and internal associates.
* Completes assigned work within the allotted time.
* Escalates issues that may negatively impact the project timeline.
* Records cost-transfer time to other JDA teams, as appropriate.
* Records time and expenses into time entry system.
* Ensures the security and integrity of corporate assets and intellectual property.

Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience with JDA WMS products
* Experience with participating in design sessions, resolving technical issues during various project phases.
* Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
* In-depth knowledge of WMS software solutions and technical architectures
* Knowledge of business processes in Supply Chain Management
* Excellent computer skills with in-depth knowledge of operating systems, client/server technology, ERP systems, Integration and Middleware technologies and applications
* Proven experience working in a temporary project role and participated, to some degree, in a solution implementation targeting specific project requirements as either a customer of JDA's or as a consultant providing services for customers.
* Ability to work with appropriate parties to effectively determine rough order of magnitude effort estimates.
* Proven experience conducting technical analysis sessions to understand the functional and technical needs of project requirements and the developed technical solutions to meet those needs.
* Experience facilitating/leading technical analysis and/or design workshops in support of desired to-be business requirements and then transferring the information gained into a written design document for group review and consensus.
* Ability to analyze and optimize components in order to take advantage of product-specific databases and system configurations.
* Previous work experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics and/or warehouse is a plus
* Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are a must.
