Design Sr. Systems Designer

San Francisco, CA

nWay is currently looking for a Sr. Systems Designer to work on a competitive mobile action game using the Power Ranger's IP. The Sr. System Designer will work closely with the VP of Creative and Sr. Director of Engineering to plan, balance and develop various complex and interrelated game systems in a live game and across multiple platforms. They will be expected to work cross-discipline as well not only to bring concepts to completion but also to develop the tools and systems required to build those systems.

Requirements

* 2+ shipped games as a designer or systems designer on free-to-play mobile games
* Deep familiarity with competitive strategy and fighter genres on mobile, PC, console, and tabletop
* Desire to work with an established IP
* Expert knowledge of a wide spectrum of game systems and concepts
* Ability to analyze data into actionable tasks
* Understanding of game balance, including statistics, virtual goods, economics and user motivations
* Outstanding written and oral communication skills
* Experience writing product specifications
* Strong technical skills with solid grounding in math and probability
* Superb balance, tuning, and polishing skills
* Up to date on the latest mobile gaming trends

Pluses

* Familiarity with Unity
* Proficiency with C# and/or Unity3D
* Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets
* Experience writing database queries (SQL, Splunk) and analyzing the data output
* Shipped titles on iOS and Android
* Experience supporting a live game on iOS and Android
* Experience designing RPG or strategy game economy and progression systems
* Experience designing, crafting and base building systems for mobile devices
* Deep knowledge of fighters, rpg or free-to-play gameplay and monetization systems
