SUMMARY

The Solutions Architect will be the Infrastructure, Data, and Application Domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design and drive the architecture solutioning for business solutions at Wesco Aircraft. This individual will lead the Network, Telecom, Server, Storage, Application, and other key SME's in the development of architecture solutions to meet the needs of the business segments of Wesco. The Architect will think strategically when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results including equipping the business with Technical Solution Documents (TSD).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Incorporate the Wesco philosophy, values, vision and objectives in all business behavior, practice, and decisions
* Complete Technical project design/review/research and facilitate cross functional learning and collaboration to deliver robust architecture solutions
* Develop architecture solutions across the business segments to drive and enable results that solve various infrastructure, data, and application problems, and/or capitalize on opportunities for maximizing efficiencies and enhanced end user experience
* Leverage the use of Architecture Framework and Wesco's established best practice guidelines in driving successful business results
* Submit technical solution proposals and engage in reviews as required, including but not limited to peer, customer, architecture management, and senior management reviews
* Translate complex functional, technical, and business requirements into architectural designs
* Deliver technical reference architectures (TRA) and technical solution documents (TSD) to the business to support successful implementation and usage of business solutions
* Provide excellent communication to articulate advanced technical topics to key stakeholders to support buy-in and approval
* Actively escalate business issues/concerns with peers, leadership, and outside parties (e.g. vendors, partners) to facilitate and drive opportunities for solutions
* Lead team of contracted staff as needed to support delivering on time solutions to the business
* Attend internal department and business partner meetings, as well as company sponsored technology workshops or training, as required

REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, engineering, or a similar field of technical competency, required; Master's Degree preferred
* Minimum of 8 years' experience in IT field supporting systems and infrastructure solutions
* Proven work experience/ demonstrated proficiency in building or assisting in the building of Technical Reference Architectures
* Demonstrated competency in one or more of the following: Database, Network, Operating Systems, Middleware, Virtualization Technologies, Storage Systems, ETL, or similar
* IT and Process Certifications such as TOGAF, CoBIT, Six Sigma preferred
* Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures
* Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes
* Able to work independently or leading a team of professionals from critical-thinking workshops to the completion of mission-critical projects
* Ability to focus on complex issues within a busy environment and pay close attention to details
* Excellent communication skills across all channels, including both written and verbal, and in a presentation setting
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and ethically with both internal and external customers
* Competent to write clear and accurate technical requirements, procedures and work instructions to a technically diverse audience
* Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, through strong critical-thinking skills
* Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment and initiative
* Strong follow-through, prioritization skills, and perseverance to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in order to maintain required productivity levels
* Final candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, criminal and employment background clearance

This position requires use of information which is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
