About the team:

The three sections within IT (Application Development, Store Systems and IT Infrastructure) work closely together to deliver timely solutions to benefit the entire Grocery Outlet ecosystem. We are service-oriented problem-solvers and go-getters! An ideal addition to the team will bring passion, dedication, humor, energy, attention to details and deep expertise. This position is part of the IT Infrastructure team which is responsible for networking, systems, security and risk for corporate and some store related systems.

About this role:

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Infrastructure team to keep it running. This role is responsible for the design, configuration, deployment, fine-tuning, troubleshooting and act as a 3rd level operational support for all infrastructure systems, including hardware, software, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS services, virtualization, operating systems (server and workstation) and networking (LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, firewall, switching). You will have a consistent focus on ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems.

What you will do:

* Validate the redundancy, stability, performance, interoperability, security, and scalability of infrastructure systems.
* Design, maintain and supervise infrastructure system images, monitoring and patch management.
* Research, propose, maintain and document standards for all infrastructure systems as well as forward-looking strategies for satisfying business needs and maintaining technical currency with systems in use.
* Stay on top of industry trends and new technologies to determine direction and service improvements to continue our competitive edge in the technology of our systems architecture.
* Collaborate on strategy around IT Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery.
* Act as the technical lead on large/complex systems and infrastructure projects.
* Interface with stakeholders to understand needs and requirements.
* Determine design and present option(s) based on constraints (such as cost, resources, security, usability, reliability, maintainability, availability, integration with existing applications, systems, and platforms, etc.).
* Implement and/or oversee implementation of solutions, document design specifications, installation instructions and ongoing maintenance required for solution delivery.
* Manage Active Directory and SSO Identify Provider integrations and configuration.
* Coordinate with external IT consultants and vendors as needed.
* Act as level 3 support for help desk escalations.
* Member of the on-call escalation policy to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
* Mentor and act as a role model for junior team members and others in the IT organization.
* Other projects and duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

* College degree in a computer discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.
* Technical certifications desirable.
* Strong base of operating systems and network basics through school, certification, or applicable experience.
* 5+ years of experience with Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016) including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Group Policy.
* 3+ years of experience with VMware ESX administration.
* 3+ years of experience with networking including routing/switching/firewall/WiFi
* 2+ years of experience with SAN technologies.
* Experience automating Windows administration using PowerShell and system configuration settings (Group Policy).
* Experience with imaging and automating operating system builds.
* Experience with capacity planning to ensure infrastructure can support future growth.
* Process orientated to improve efficiency and make sure audit items are completed correctly.
* Highly driven and hardworking with high standards for themselves and others.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills relating to interactions and communication with other employees and outside parties.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
* Proven skill in understanding and supporting business objectives.
* Strong ability to work with other business teams to understand requirements and translate them into efficient system designs and operational support structures.

Pluses:

* Experience administering AWS, Office 365, Azure, IIS, Microsoft SQL.
* Experience administering Cisco network equipment a plus.
* Experience with ServiceNow or JavaScript.
