Position: Information Security Systems Engineer

Position Description:

Harris Corporation is seeking a Senior Information Security Systems Engineer, and Security Administrator for the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) program and other related Air Traffic Control programs. The position involves the security administration for the Surveillance and Broadcast Services System assets. The work includes developing and managing file integrity monitoring systems, performing security vulnerability assessments, supporting remediation activities, review and development of security test plan and procedures, and the support of FAA IRAT and GAO audits. Personnel responsibilities include the mentoring and technical direction of junior security administrators


The candidate will be responsible for performing tasks such as:

* Support all aspects of cyber security for both on-site and remote systems
* Perform daily security systems administration for IDS, Firewall, SIEM, and other COTS products
* Perform vulnerability assessments and security audits to meet NIST standards
* Research security standards, security systems and authentication protocols
* Identify security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications and new technology initiatives (hardware, software, cross-domain solutions, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus systems and software deployment tools).
* Recommend and implement measures to maintain compliance with Federal cyber security policies
* Develop and review System Security Plans (SSP) and other required system plans and security procedures
* Coordinate security-relevant systems administration activities in Windows, Linux, VMware, Solaris, and Cisco IOS
* Verify that asset implementations comply with allocated security requirements
* Mentor and provide technical direction to junior security administrators
* Work will be performed during normal business hours with scheduled on-call support after normal business hours
* Work is generally conducted in an office environment. Work may require lifting 50 lbs., standing, walking, and prolonged sitting. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in certain situations. Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. Task specific work environment training will be provided as required. This position may require travel for periods of time to various government sites and the world.


* Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA or equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, and minimum 6 years related experience
* 4-6 years' experience in system administration or security administration.
* Experience with system architectures, operating systems, network components, software assurance and databases
* Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
* Experience using VMware, Linux, Solaris, Windows, Active Directory, and Cisco platforms.
* Experience with security products such as Cisco Firepower, AlienVault USM/OSSIM, OSSEC, Splunk Enterprise Security, and McAfee e-Policy Orchestrator.

Preferred Qualifications:

* DoDI 8570 IAT or IAM Level 2 compliant professional certification (i.e. CISSP, CISM, Security + CE, or SSCP).
* Experience with security assessment and authorization activities required for Federal information systems.
* Previous experience with FAA systems and programs is a plus.
