Job Summary

This role will have 10 - 12+ years' experience successful delivery of architecture for data management, analytics, data warehousing oriented (primary focus) and dot net (ability to work with) platforms in cloud hosted and on prem environments.

Senior Solutions Architect role within the organization - oversees the technology architecture with focus on consistency, reusability, and technical integration of a product portfolio. Provides overall technical direction, guidance and definition of enterprise architecture solutions to effectively support the business strategy. Responsibilities include researching, analysing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Responsible for conception of solutions, building consensus and the selling and execution of such solutions. Serves as a technical expert and critical resource across multiple disciplines. A minimum of 10 + years progressively senior experience in application development and/or application architecture. Recommends emerging technologies and appropriate technical approaches for solutions.

Will be working with all levels of technology from front-end technologies, server side technologies (web APIs on dotnet, Python, Node.js), backend data processing technologies and Cloud technologies in Azure and Amazon!

Duties and Responsibilities

* Provides technical and architectural leadership on various business and enterprise applications. Works with architecture, development, and infrastructure teams to produce an optimal, high level, conceptual design for the project. Develops enterprise level solutions that integrate across applications, systems and platforms.

Acts as key technical trusted advisor and understands and contributes to product visioning, feasibility and architectural approach definition.


* Manages and mentors other studio architects; approves application architecture designs, and lead technical design sessions with architects and developers. Provides guidance, oversight to the Development organization engaged on projects.


* Partner with Product Owner and other stakeholders to understand the high-level requirements and business objectives, future strategic direction of the business/function; and make recommendations for business prioritization, roadmaps and product improvements. Provide leadership in refining the product backlog from an architectural standpoint.


* Defines application technology strategy and architecture to ensure alignment with technology industry and Deloitte global standards, application technology roadmap, and business needs. Researches emerging technologies and solutions to solve complex business problems. Proposes and maintains reference architecture.

Recommends changes in process, policies, and standards as they relate to the architecture and design principles


* Manages end to end delivery of projects including hands on involvement in architecture and design phases, creating/ documenting solution architecture/DAD. Enforces standards, procedures, and methodologies for architecture through the evaluation and adoption lifecycle.


* Communicate with senior leaders regarding the architecture, discuss problems and recommend solutions and improvements.


* Partners with business analysts, systems analysts and engineers to define and review requirements. Advises and consults senior leadership on costs, benefits, and implementation of technology solutions.


* Facilitates and drives the analysis, design, and architectural definition of innovative solutions to address business and user experience requirements.


* Coordinating vendor engagement, assessment and selection. May manage relationship with outside vendors.


* Build, design and implement high-volume, high-scale responsive web front ends, web APIs, data analytics and machine learning solutions in the cloud. Bring new ideas in cloud, analytics, and machine learning software development.


* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


* Maintains relationships and collaborates with architects in other Architecture, Enterprise Architecture domains including application, infrastructure, security and business domains. Participates in architectural peer review activities, and performs design reviews to ensure alignment to the architectural approach



Required Skills

* 10+ years progressively senior experience in application architecture with a dot net and Analytics (primary focus), Data Warehousing focus.


* Proven experience architecting, delivering, and supporting highly available and performant systems


* Proven technology leader across cloud, data, infrastructure, APIs, and front-end technologies


* Demonstrated strong understanding of Solutions Architecture and Enterprise Applications and hands on experience to create and document solution architectures.


* Extensive experience in following key domains (Applications or Technology) and a good understanding of both of these domains and their relationships. Specific experience in the following:
* Strong experience to lead delivery and solution architecture for dot net and Analytics, data management based platforms and solutions.


* Strong understanding of cloud hosting in a public, private and hybrid environment. Cloud Architecture (Azure experience required, AWS preferable)


* Strong understanding of Software Defined networking, storage and compute


* Understanding of service strategy and service management


* Strong understanding of enterprise solutions including the following: Technical design (OOD/OOA, SOA, Micros Services and Web Services).




* Experience in data warehousing, data integration, ETL [e.g. Microsoft SSIS] and be able to apply this knowledge in an enterprise environment


* Experience with multiple software platforms including the following Azure data PaaS services: Azure SQL DB, Azure data factory , Azure Storage, Cosmos DB, MongoDB and etc. and Microsoft SSIS.


* Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Qlik Sense , Power BI


* Experience in database analysis services for visualization design such as Microsoft SSAS


* Experience with scalable implementations using Microsoft SQL Server


* Ability to work with newer technologies like Artificial Intelligence, RPA, machine learning etc.


* Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile) and application lifecycle management (ALM) methodologies and delivery and testing through continuous integration and delivery.


* Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver presentations to executives to gain consensus, including an ability to translate complex technical topics to audiences with a range of technical and non-technical sophistication.



Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

Understanding of one or more of the following desired (not required):

Azure qualifications

TOGAF / Zachman, Service / Vendor management and strategy e.g. ITIL

Education & Experience

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science is required.

Years of Experience:

* 10+ years experience in technical leadership on large enterprise projects around applications architecture , Technology architecture subject matter experience across multiple technical areas and business segments and teams.
* Architecture standards design and implementation (including strategy, user experience, performance, controls, stability, quality, innovation, and enterprise security requirements)


* 10 -12 years of overall IT Service and operations experience.




* Project software development life cycle experience; complete understanding of design and project management of business software solutions; strong channel specific business and domain (functional/technical) knowledge.
