Job Description

Sr. Software Test Lead - INF001283

The Sr. Software Test Lead will lead testing efforts for medium to large sized projects. Leads and oversees the Testing in support of U.S. Cellular's application development projects. Establishes and ensures adherence to the test processes and methodologies for test planning and test execution. Champions, supports and educates associates on test processes and methodologies. Collaborates with Business Partners and IS teams to facilitate timely planning and execution of Testing. The Sr. Software Test Lead mentors Jr. Software Test Leads.

Essential Functions

* Based on analysis and interpretation of technology/applications, provides technical consultation and recommendations to management to ensure the development and implementation of quality IT systems and software throughout the project life cycle.
* Accountable for the testing quality and effectiveness; which includes development, review and oversight of the test approach, test plan, detailed test case design and timelines.
* Leads onshore and offshore teams on large complex projects workload and deliver to agreed upon project milestones and quality standards.
* Escalates significant issues quickly and clearly, and makes decisions regarding risks and solutions
* Identifies cross project dependencies within a release or program.
* Reviews project and team deliverables for completeness and correctness
* Address risks proactively and develops appropriate mitigation plans under limited supervision

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required
* Experience leading testing teams required
* 7+ years of Information Technology/Testing experience with 3+ years of experience leading the testing effort of various projects
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required
* Effective communication skills required; ability to collaborate and communicate with developers, business analysts, and business team members
* Experience with resource management, providing test estimates, and forecasting of resources
* Proficient in collecting test metrics and creating comprehensive test summary reports
* Strong time management and organization skills
* Requires in-depth experience with V-Model and Waterfall methodologies
* Agile experience (preferred)
* HP Quality Center experience required
* Experience in Telecom industry (preferred)
* CSTE or CSQA (preferred)
