Sr Software Engineer - Java

Capital One is actively seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with expertise in development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms for our Finance Systems Technology organization. Successful candidates will have hands-on development experience with responsibility for overall delivery of software components. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own end-to-end delivery of software components from inception to production.

What You'll Do:

* Drive project/service delivery
* Lead software development projects with responsibility for overall delivery of software components
* Work with Product Managers to build the "right" software
* Collaborate with other platforms tech leads to ensure integrated end-to-end design
* Document design decisions and Enforcing existing process guidelines
* Follow best practices of Software Development
* A thirst to learn new technologies and passion to apply them to solve customer problems
* Mentor junior developers
* Embrace DevOps and YBYO (You Build You Own) model
* Conduct design & code reviews
* Monitor operating efficiency of existing application systems

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree
* At least 5 years of experience in Java Development
* At least 3 years of experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
* At least 3 years of experience building RESTful API's or Microservices
* At least 3 years of experience in Spring Boot
* At least 2 years of experience with UI Frameworks
* At least 2 years of experience in Cloud Technologies
* At least 2 years of experience in Apache Kafka

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree
* 2+ years of experience in building or enhancing existing spring batch jobs that manage files and integrate with Databases to be compliant with security standards
* 2+ years of experience in enhancing spring cloud streams and deploying in various test regions
* 3+ years of experience in working with Jenkins jobs, resolving errors and enhancing the CI/CD process
* 3+ years of experience with SonarQube or GitHub
* 3+ years of experience with Anti-Factory Model, or Nexus Framework or Maven
* 3+ years of experience with RDBMS and NoSQL
* 5+ years of UNIX or Linux experience
* 2+ years of experience in AWS ECS or Amazon EC2
* 2+ years of experience with Docker
* 1+ years of experience in developing large and complex event processing platforms
* 1+ years of experience in developing high volume transaction processing solutions that can be scaled for millions of daily transactions
* AWS Certification
