Job Description

Role Summary:We are taking on the world's biggest challenges through innovative software solutions. You will work with a group of energized and focused software professionals, power system engineers, and domain experts to develop software solutions for large electric grid operators. You will be responsible for building, testing, packaging and supporting new applications using a micro-service-oriented architecture.

Essential Responsibilities:

You will contribute to the team and will work under the direction of the senior team members and management.

Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.

Be responsible for the health and quality of the software you produce.

Have awareness of SDLC and methodologies like Scrum, CI/CD, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques.

Reverse engineer code, debug and write & execute test cases against large scale software product applications.

Understand performance parameters and assess application performance.

Understand core data structures and algorithms and have the ability to implement them using preferred language

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of development experience with Oracle PL/SQL

Desired Characteristics:

Experience with advanced PL/SQL features including: advanced queues, triggers, reference cursors, pipeline functions, subquery factoring clauses.

Experience with both ANSI and Oracle join syntax.

Ability to create and understand extremely complex SQL statements.

Ability to diagnose and remediate query performance issues.

Experience with idiosyncrasies related to RAC.

Experience with back-end processing for REST technologies a plus.

Aware of Methods and practices such as Scrum/Agile/XP, etc. May have prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory knowledge on Scrum or agile.

Experience in any of the following tools a plus: Git, Linux, REST (or other web technologies), Jenkins

Can break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.

Must be willing to learn enough of the domain to be able to articulate the project's value proposition for the customer. Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.
