The Azure Monitor API team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build & operate a high-scale API service used to power Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics and Azure Application Insights experiences.

Our mission is to provide a highly scalable and reliable log query API & data export service for Azure customers and developers building experiences powered by Azure Monitor and Log Analytics query. Our passion is delivering a service that offers great API experience for developers and is built using modern API service best practices.

Under the hood, the service is thoroughly "modern": geo-distributed for scale and reliability, developed in Node using Typescript, built as a containerized set of API microservices, deployed to Azure Linux VMs and orchestrated by Azure Kubernetes.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about cloud computing, containers/micro services, high scale services and great APIs! Also, someone who thrives in agile development team, rapidly innovates, leverages open source community and is deeply passionate about understanding and enabling customer experiences.

3+ years of development experience, C++, C#, TypeScript or JavaScript preferred.

Experience with web technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, Swagger, HTTP, JSON, etc.

Prior experience in shipping products across multiple product cycles.

Proficiency in object-oriented programming and design.

Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, maintaining online services.

BS or MS in computer science, related degree.

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms.

Experience with Docker/Kubernetes

Ability to collaborate within and across teams effectively.

Linux & Open source expertise
