Job description

Senior Software Engineer is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of highly complex test equipment solutions, hardware and software, for use in testing Electro-mechanical Systems products in support of Engineering, Operations, Service locations and external markets. The Software Engineer will take direction from the Test Equipment Senior Engineering Manager to complete test equipment bids, define requirements, development activities, integration, validation, documentation, project execution and Test Engineering supporting efforts.

Job requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* - Individual should be familiar with RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, USB, and standard LRU interfaces standards like ARINC-429 and MIL-1553 as it relates to Avionics and LRU interface. In addition, should be knowledgeable with the DO-160 testing and certification process.
* - Experience in requirements analysis and integration are essential. Must be motivated to learn at a fast pace, work autonomously and within a team environment. Experience with DOORS software and system requirements management is highly preferred.
* - Must be proficient with software development utilizing National Instruments Labview, Test Stand / CVI and C, C++,C# programming language is an absolute.
* - Must possess excellent organizational skills and be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Must have excellent verbal and written communications communication skills and be able to work equally effectively with exempt and non-exempt personnel as well as subcontract suppliers. Required to have demonstrated test engineering competency with a minimum of two (5) years of related experience. Must possess excellent skills using Microsoft Office tool suite (Word, Excel, Project, Visio)

This position requires a degree in Engineering or equivalent with 5 or more years of experience in the field.

Complementary description

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* - Lead the development of complex test equipment hardware and software for both new and legacy products. This includes leading a diverse team of Engineers including financial oversight, plans and schedule execution, managing risks and opportunities, lead product design, integration, verification, validation, and documentation activities for complex test solutions.
* - Develop complex test solution bids by providing accurate cost and schedule estimates along with technical descriptions of proposed test solutions.
* - Follow Test Strategy Development guidelines to provide cost effective test solutions utilizing modularity and reuse whenever possible.
* - Perform concurrent test development with product development by coordinating with product development teams to direct design for testability, documenting test requirements, and generating test procedures for final product acceptance.
* - Work with LCVSM's, Operations, and Engineering to develop test solutions required for Qualification and Acceptance testing, and ESS/HASS/HALT testing the product in accordance with engineering and manufacturing test plans.
* - Provide prompt test equipment support for legacy systems for Operations, Service locations and Product Support to minimize product stop shipments while reducing quality escapes.
