Job Description

The Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) group is looking for an experienced software manager to lead a strategically important software research and development team. You will be responsible for leading the research, implementation, and operation of key predictive inputs and control systems making inventory planning decisions, collaborating with other senior research and software development leaders at the company, and providing scalable software implementations of your team's models.

Our group tackles some of the most mathematically complex inventory management challenges in the industry today to create intelligent algorithms to improve Amazon's inventory & operational efficiency worldwide. This position has high-level visibility, research and development responsibility, and spans disciplines including Computer Science, Operations Research, and Machine Learning. Ideal candidates will have experience leading software teams with a research focus.

You will operate in a decentralized research and systems environment, where your models coordinate with other teams' models toward a joint overall objective in a computationally tractable, operationally efficient, and transparent manner that enables and accelerates future research. You will also focus on the correctness of your models, and will design innovative ways to validate and gain insights from the details of your systems' outputs.
