The RoleThe Sr Software DevOps engineer is part of a dynamic team, collaborating with the R&D product team organizations to build out a release pipeline for their products and services. The DevOps engineer participates by helping to ensure the infrastructure portion of the service stack has the necessary services, a CI\CD process and environments which incorporates quality and correctness intrinsically into the dev/test cycles which prioritizes service availability, performance, capacity, security and compliance.

Your Impact

Opportunity Highlights:

* Design and create services, software delivery and deployment pipelines.
* Participate in tool authoring, integration and extension via REST or SOAP.
* Participate in defining and executing an innovative software product release engineering strategy.
* Help developers deliver their code to production (pipelines, code quality, revision control, etc).
* Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals to help ensure successful deliverables.
* Work closely with developers and QA teams to understand how to improve their processes and deliver high quality software more effectively.
* Help monitor and troubleshoot both development and production environments.
* Help implement leading edge tools and processes to streamline the CI/CD and DevOps process
* Keep current with new and developing software technologies and assist in prototyping and determining the feasibility of implementing new technologies.

Qualifications

* Knowledge of basic TCP/IP networking and DNS
* Familiar with C# or Python.
* Public cloud experience - understands cloud computing best practices.
* Hands on experience with CI\CD using Docker containers as artifacts, configuration and automation tools.
* BS in Computer Science or a related major or equivalent experience.
* Independent, entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset with ability to make independent decisions.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Strong attention to detail, organized and goal oriented.
* Customer service minded, adaptable, embraces change.
* Ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities:

* Help drive architectural requirements gathering and develop POCs for technology within the platform space such as caching layers, application servers, data repositories and more.
* Participate in and strongly contribute to architectural reviews and discussions of test/release process.
* Provide support & collaboration for the software/QA engineers on cloud native projects.
* Participate in the testing of functionality, operability, deployment, and performance for application or infrastructure changes.
* Drive, define and deploy system monitoring with thresholds and actionable alerts.
* Demonstrate ownership, accountability and follow-through.
* Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure.
* Ability to explain and evangelize cloud computing best practices.
