Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. Owned by Samsung Electronics Corporation Ltd., SAS is the only semiconductor manufacturing plant located outside of Korea. SAS manufactures logic components for digital services, personal computers, mobile phones, workstations and servers. Since 1997, SAS has been at the forefront of manufacturing technology, enabling the world's digital devices to operate at the highest performance.

Our company creates some of the world's most high-tech semiconductor manufacturing line for CPUs, GPUs, and IoT sensors. We are currently in search of a Senior Python developer build pipelines which incorporate data from various resources, transform data, implement new features, and prep data for machine learning. Looking for a senior Python developer with a passion for data wrangling, building scalable pipelines, and enjoys being a part of a small high performing team developing and maintaining in-house reports and machine learning pipelines.

SAS is focused on being the World's Best Foundry product supplier.

Role and Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

* Be a member of the Defect Engineering Systems group which provides data summarization across many key dashboards.
* Plan, design, implement, and document new data pipelines to bring new data analytics to the team
* Collaborate with end customers on new feature requests, improving existing tools and reports
* Attend team meetings and offer solutions to challenging problems
* Mentor other team members on best code practices and participate in code reviews
* Assist other departments with related projects and know how to connect them with useful data
* Other duties as needed

What You Will Need:

* 5+ Years of software development experience building scalable systems
* Comfortable working with command line interfaces (Ubuntu experience a plus)
* Experience with VM container software (Docker / Kubernates) deploying as micro-services
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to keep deadlines while applying good design principals
* Ability to learn quickly on the job and implementing best industry practices

What Will Make You Stand Out:

* Experience preparing data for machine learning pipelines (normalization, feature engineering)
* Experience with machine learning frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTorch)

Skills and Qualifications

* Bachelors in a computer science required
* 5 years working in software development

Proficient in

* Python Development Lifecycle (Design, Implementation, Test, Deploy)
* SQL (Designing schema, indexing, building scalable systems)
* GIT (branching, develop new features, merge)
* Ubuntu Linux (ability to navigate, manage crontab, install packages as needed)
* Building Micro-Services and RESTful APIs

Preferred Experience with:

* Machine Learning Frameworks (Caffe, Tensorflow)
* Strong analytical skills
