Overview

We are looking for a seasoned program manager to drive a number of key information security programs. This individual will contribute to strategic programs which will directly support Akamai and its customers. To succeed in this role, the candidate must be well-organized, technically-oriented, and a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize, and generate high quality deliverables, and also effectively facilitate communications between teams while also considering the big picture.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading security compliance initiatives and assessments including responses to audit-related inquiries
* Planning and executing compliance programs from scoping to final deliverables with an eye for documenting and continuous process improvements
* Establishing and driving goals and consensus across cross-functional teams

with members spanning Akamai, including Information Security, Platform Engineering, Product Development Engineering, Product Operations and Networks

* Uniting core teams, driving cadence and follow-up actions by establishing agendas and handling logistics
* Articulating the technology, requirements, goals, and milestones to stakeholders
* Provide direction within a team of information security professionals; communicate clearly and concisely with executive leadership
* Proactively managing risks and issues to mitigate their impact on projects
* Preparing and presenting program status to management and stakeholders
* Effectively managing program milestones with Business Units and IS teams
* Conducting ongoing communication of your program and reduce surprises by proactively managing risks
* Building subject matter expertise, stay up to date on technology, and identify key partnerships to define team roadmaps
* Owning and developing key metrics for your security program, and provide transparency for changes to corporate security risks
* Communicating well through clear written and verbal communication, active listening, and transparency.

About the Team

Akamai's InfoSec Team is responsible for safeguarding the security of Akamai's infrastructure and provide internal advocacy for security practices. Within this larger context, the Security Assurance team works closely with product and platform teams throughout the company to help ensure that Akamai systems meet both the safety and security compliance needs of our customers and the public.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

* 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or
* 6 years of relevant experience and a Master's degree or
* 3 years of relevant experience and a PhD or
* Equivalent professional experience

Required Skills

* 5 years of experience in technical project management

Desired Skills

* Experience with information security initiatives including frameworks such as PCI, SOC2, FedRAMP, NIST CSF
* Interest and knowledge in blockchain technology are a plus
* PMP certification is a plus
* Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead program work at an enterprise scale
* Excellent time management skills including the ability to prepare, prioritize, and complete work plans
* Experience working in a fast-paced matrix organization
* Excellent influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills
* Exceptional oral and written communications skills
* Demonstrate an advanced understanding of security controls, IT controls and related standards
* Ability to interact and communicate with senior executives across multiple business areas
* Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly
* Demonstrated ability to work independently under tight deadlines while responding to changing business and technical conditions
* Proven ability to deliver cross-functional strategic initiatives
* Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and professionally across a wide range of constituencies
* Experience with industry standard SDLC tools, including Confluence and Jira, is also a plus
