The SAP Basis Architect is a technical leadership role focusing on MKS' global SAP landscape. The Architect will be accountable for the design, implementation and health of the SAP landscape. The Architect will provide oversight and leadership to an extended technical team including onsite and offshore third party resources. The Architect is expected to be hands on for all design work and in the implementation of complex technical activities and issues. . The Architect will ensure that the SAP systems ((ECC, BW, APO, GTS, DMS, GRC, SAP Portal, Netweaver Gateway, SAP PI, Business Connector, and OpenText) and their peripheral systems (OpenText, Thomson Reuters, Hyperion, Hybris, and SalesForce) are properly monitored, and optimized to provide an uninterrupted and stable state. Expertise in solution designing for complex SAP architectures, infrastructure sizing and landscape optimization. Additionally, the Architect will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical road maps for SAP and supporting systems.
Analyze and define SAP and related solution infrastructure and application architecture
Partners with peers across the IT organization to solve complex business problems including taking a lead role on the high level solution options and approach
Leads technical projects such as infrastructure refreshes, data center migrations, and disaster recovery solutions.
Develops SAP infrastructure project plans and be responsible for the deliverables set by the application delivery managers.
Ensures SAP solution has proper monitoring in place; Supports performance analysis, memory management, and hardware capacity scaling and database analysis. Responsible for the system's overall health and stability.
Brings technical innovation and provides recommendations on SAP Technologies and related products
Plays a hands-on role in mitigating and resolving significant system issues such as performance issues.
Act as a liaison with networking and infra structure teams for efficient system administration
Distribute work load between Architecture/Design (80%) and operations (20%)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with 10+ years of experience.

10+ years experience as a SAP Basis Architect
5+ years of SAP Basis Administration
Strong experience in Unix/Linuxand Windows platforms
Strong experience in SAP Sizing, SAP HA/DR Design, SAP Operational Best Practices, SAP version upgrades using Solution Manager ,
Strong experience in Oracle and SQL Server DBMS; HANA experience a plus
Strong experience in SAP archiving and Open Text tools.
Strong knowledge in SPS patches, system refreshes and copies, Kernel upgrades and Kerbos single-sign on.
Good handle on SAP DMS systems
Knowledge on SAP PI administration and monitoring
Knowledge on SAP Reverse Proxy server processes.
Familiar with BOBJ implementations and security.
At least one implementation of SAP BW/4 HANA or a proof of concept.
At least one ECC migration to SAP/4 HANA
At least one Hybris Implementation
Familiar with SalesForce and ECC integrations
