Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Candidate will perform system engineering assignments related to our space based EO/IR programs. System engineering assignments are in areas such as ConOps development, requirements development, requirements management, preparation of test plans, maintenance of Interface Control Documents, payload sub-system engineering, failure analysis, performance analysis, risk management, preparation of requirements, verification plans, completion of requirement verfiication reports & conduct of peer reviews of large, complex documents & plans. Candidate will evaluate changes to system and sub-system specifications and assess impact of proposed changes. Candidate will represent payload engineering at customer review boards. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.

Selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An active DoD Secret or higher clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship Required. Northrop Grumman is an Equal Opportunity Employer, M/F/H/V.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related engineering or science discipline plus a minimum of 9 years of experience.
* Proficiency with commonly used tools in MS Windows.
* Working knowledge of engineering tools such as: DOORS, MATLAB, and Mathcad.
* Active DoD Secret Clearance must be held and maintained. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Scinece, or Aerospace Engineering and 12 years experience.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Knowledge of and experience with the EOIR programs.
* Team Lead experience.
