You've delved into some of the most difficult problems in server-authoritative multiplayer networking, and solved problems involving lag compensation, latency, and network reliability. The challenge of building a client/server solution atop an existing engine (Unity or Unreal) is creatively exciting to you. You want to elevate mobile multiplayer gaming.

Sound like a match? Kabam Austin is looking for a talented and passionate Senior Multiplayer Network Engineer to help develop the client/server solutions for a mobile-based synchronous multiplayer game.

This position will work with a now-forming development team during the pre-production phase and beyond. You'll architect and implement a world-class server-authoritative infrastructure for a synchronous action multiplayer game for mobile devices.

Required qualifications

* Experience with developing the server side of synchronous action multiplayer games
* Empathy for the player experience - improvement and lag mitigation technologies
* Strong understanding of networking protocols and data transfer optimizations

Preferred qualifications

* Database and data caching experience
* Large scale distributed infrastructure deployment experience
* Experience in detecting and rectifying cheating in games

Nice to have qualifications

* 7+ years of professional experience
* Shipped multiplayer games
* Experience working with mobile games
* Strong 3D math skills
