Job Type: Career Department Name: 4803-OFFICE TECHNOLOGY CENTER Department Website URL: Job Summary Statement: Under the minimal direction of the infrastructure manager, provide both network infrastructure and back-end systems development and support across a variety of server and network platforms and functions to the Student Affairs Organization, which is also directly responsible for the provisioning of IT services to the Chancellor's Office. The incumbent will be a hands-on technical lead, provide support for security and network infrastructure management, and system administration in a multi-vendor and complex network infrastructure, supporting a diverse set of customers. Manage a complex security solution including firewall, VPN, redundant management servers, various clustering technologies, and Access Control Lists (ACL's) on multi-vendor switching and routing equipment. Update and implement Firewall and ACL rules reflecting appropriate levels of security in compliance with University and departmental policies. Assist in the research, development, and implementation of technical solutions that leverage networking resources. Support Windows servers delivering critical services, performing automated network management and data gathering, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, NTP, etc. Design, develop and test scripts and/or web applications in support of varied network management processes, web based applications and user services using .Net, JavaScript, DHTML and Visual Basic Technologies. Implement .Net front-ends to SQL Service databases, ActiveX and COM objects. Responsibilities include requirement gathering, creating Web services, developing ASPX web pages, creating SQL Server views and stored procedures, performing basic SQL administrator tasks, testing ASPX pages for errors and performance. Participate in the design of relational databases for the storage of systems, networking data, and statistics as well as maintenance of existing web applications. Conduct thorough and detailed systems analyses for proposed systems development projects. Recommend operational changes for integrating systems into existing or new operational procedures. Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies, assess risk/benefits. Purpose solutions and office recommendations. Detailed knowledge and applied expertise in Microsoft Windows operating systems and server technologies (Windows 2012, 2012 R2, 2016) Active Directory, SQL 2012, 2014, 2017, Office 2013, 2016, and Citrix.).

Understanding of VMWare ESX software and other virtualization software

Detailed knowledge of database theory and systems specifically MS SQL Server (2012, 2014, 2017).
