Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

The Oracle Data Science team is seeking talented Software Engineers to join our engineering team. We are addressing exciting challenges at the intersection of data science and cutting edge infrastructure. We are building great user experiences for data scientists, ML Engineers and developers to help them every step of the way in their ML development lifecycle - feature engineering, training, model tracking and serving.

What You'll Do

* Work on application programming and systems engineering building a new cloud service for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
* Design and develop backend services that can hyper scale

Qualifications

* You have prior experience working on distributed systems
* You are ideally proficient in Java. Proficiency in Go would be a bonus
* You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols
* You are familiar with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, secret storage, software-defined networking, etc.
* Preferably, production experience with Cloud technologies
* Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and other stakeholders
* You feel at home communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)
* You care about entire lifecycle of software (development, testing, CI and production)
