Job Description

We are the Amazon Books Demand Science and Machine Learning team, and our mission is to help customers discover and read the books that they will love. We pursue our mission by integrating ML and science-based solutions into business processes that directly affect the way customers discover, buy, and engage with books (e.g. targeted marketing, personalized book rewards, content modeling, pricing, promotions/deals, book recommendations, title selection for subscription programs like Kindle Unlimited). Our mission is made possible by the diverse and rich set of data sources including search, reading, buying, browsing, book manuscript, and other data sources.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who specializes in, and is looking to further advance her/his skills with Machine Learning applications. You will be responsible for the implementation, testing, and release of a range of models, both for existing and "to-be-invented" use cases.

You will work closely with Machine Learning scientists to design, build, and own state-of-the-art systems for deploying and executing ML models. You will coordinate with product teams and engineers in the broader Kindle ML community, and will gain a deep understanding of both the science and its application. You will help hire, develop, and lead new team members (scientists and engineers).

You will lead engineering best practices for scaling ML and designing/building software that is reliable, scalable, and secure. We have a team culture that encourages innovation, and you will have the freedom to drive architectural and design choices, and to invent new features.
