Job Description

What does a great Senior Java Software Engineer do?

You will improve the product configuration architecture, including improving and maintaining the Java configuration API's and annotations, crafting improvements to the core product for small to medium hosted and on-premise clients, requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation. Our Payment Services Hub is built on a 100% Java EE platform. You'll utilize your experience to produce high quality code in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. You will work with project managers, lead developers, business analysts, and clients.

You can look forward to:

* Designing and developing Java code that meets design and architectural requirements and supports system testing.
* Understanding the impact of changes across the application.
* Discussing aspects of the design with architects, team leads and business analysts to check understanding and raise concerns.
* Improving and maintaining existing application software, continually providing support for internally developed applications
* Accurately communicating development status on a regular basis to team leads.
* Assisting the production support team in defect analysis.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

* 6+ years real-world professional experience in server-side Java development including the Java EE technologies (JDBC, EJB, and JMS).
* Bachelor's degree Required

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:

* Working knowledge of XML and related technologies such as JAXP, JAXB, and XPath.
* Experience in developing Java EE applications on WebLogic or WebSphere.
* Experience working with SQL
* Background in relational databases and experience with applications that utilize relational databases.
* Experience working in the Financial, Banking sector, specifically Payments Systems
