CGH has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Sr. Java Developer/Team Lead to join the CGH Team.

We are seeking a candidate who has experience and skills for handling end-to-end projects in the application space, but also can strategize and handle client relations and also be able to articulate technical intricacies in normal terms.

Responsibilities:

* Under the direction of the Team Lead or as the Team Lead, the Sr. Java Developer:
* Interfaces with customer to determine and document application requirements.
* Coordinates with other functional members of the project team, i.e., infrastructure, database administrators, security, and configuration management.
* Performs specialized programming duties including conceptual system design, specifications development, including writing interfaces to Database Management Systems (DBMS).
* Designs detailed input and output record layouts, documenting the functions of programs.
* Translates detailed design into computer software.
* Tests, debugs, and refines the computer software to produce the required product.
* Ensures that software design promotes modularity and portability and is reliable, serviceable, and maintainable, has demonstrable accuracy, privacy and security, and is sufficient within the parameters of the system.
* Prepares required system and data requirements documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation; system test, implementation, and configuration management plans and system demonstrations.
* Design and develop Intranet-based interactive applications.

Qualifications

Number of Years Experience Required:

* 7-10 years' experience in the Information Technology industry
* 5 years' experience with Oracle Database operating in a production environment
* 2+ years experience leading teams
* 7 years' experience as an application developer, with full development life cycle experience (requirements phase through deployment)

Minimum Education and Certifications Required:

* Bachelors' Degree in related field - Computer Science, Engineering, or Math is preferred

Technical Skills Required:

* Minimum of 7 years' experience in Java-based Object Oriented Development (OOD) is required
* Hands on Experience with most of the following technologies and frameworks are a must: JDBC & connection pooling, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, AngularJS, Ant, XML/XSL Parsers, other Apache/Jakarta Open Source tools and frameworks.
* XML Schemas
* AIXM
* Knowledge of UNIX environment is a must, Solaris preferred
* Managing Application servers (Glassfish Application server a plus)
* Knowledge and experiences developing Web Services
* Strong math skills a plus
* Exposure to GIS / ESRI environment is a plus
* Works within an Agile (Scrum) team to advance the state of the product

Computer Skills:

SW Development skills required:

* Legacy system replacement and re-engineering
* Data integration and aggregation (i.e. FTP, synchronization, Web Services)
* Languages required:
* Java, Servlets, J2EE. Java Server Pages
* Oracle PL/SQL including creating Views, Functions, and Procedures
* XML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
* Knowledgeable in SW, HW, and technologies that support web-based application development, ie Java, J2EE, Oracle Spatial, UNIX, XML, XSD, Hibernate, and schema generation tools, PDF, AJAX , and GIS tools.

Application Servers & Platforms required:

* Sun Java System Application Server
* Apache Tomcat
* Windows 2000 and XP
* Sun Solaris
* Working knowledge of Geographical Information System (GIS) software a plus: map routing software, and I/O from Geographical displays is a plus.
* Experience with Web Services including JDBC, JMS, JSON, JTA, JSF, JSP, REST/SOAP, WSDL, GIS, Web Services Security

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

* U.S. Citizen or person with valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for 3 or more years.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and interface with the customer and interpret requirements.
* Ability to communicate requirements.
* Experience leading Information Technology project teams.
* While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear and use a computer/keyboard/mouse for several hours on a daily basis.
* May require occasional light lifting of up to 10 pounds.
