Job Description

Docker is looking for a seasoned Senior IT Engineer to own and continuously improve major areas of our SaaS-driven Corporate IT Operations. Have deep experience in delivering information technology services from inception to deployment and beyond. You understand the pain points of a fast-moving startup that is ready to mature beyond the nascent startup. You must be hands-on, understand, and exercise best practices when it comes to building and running, whether that be deploying new systems from scratch or picking up the pieces of a project-in-progress. The ideal candidate should not be afraid to dive into fragmentation and tech debt and be driven to decrease the chaos and implement processes, procedures, and policies from scratch. With an eye on continuous improvement, you should have familiarity with automation. You own a piece of the company we are creating and your work needs to reflect that mentality, culture, and work ethic.

You must have solid communication skills, specifically exhibiting responsiveness and rational decision-making. The Corporate Engineering team is highly collaborative and the candidate must be willing to impart and share knowledge and also give and receive meaningful feedback, participating in the maturation of a pre-IPO company on the precipice of changing the game.

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve the Corporate IT needs of Docker employees in line with Corporate IT policies and processes
  • Subject matter expert on MDM/Remote Desktop Administration solutions, implementing tools to manage our endpoint security systems, devices, etc.,
  • Experience as an Okta Administrator (certifications and training a plus) or other SSO platform
  • Develop automation workflows and integrations to make our end user services work better
  • Share responsibilities of and serve as a point of contact for managing our corporate network
  • Report communication status/issues, SLAs, performance, system health, monitoring, incidences to various stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Develop high quality solutions proven with testing and validation 
  • Expand the Corporate IT Knowledge Base; Create and document system processes 
  • IT Administrator for various SaaS-based platforms
  • Work with Service Desk team to handle escalations
  • Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications: 

  • 5-7 years’ experience administering and managing end user systems and cloud services
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to administer: Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence/ServiceDesk), Okta, OneLogin, JAMF, Airwatch, G Suite, Office365, Slack, Sophos, Avast, Bitdefender, Dropbox
  • Expert understanding of Windows, Linux, Mac hardware and respective software
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, VoIP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLANs, Wireless, and other networking concepts.
  • Direct experience with firewalls, routers, and switches (JunOS or Cisco a plus)
  • Implementation knowledge of virtualization
  • Scripting and automation experience for IT tasks (e.g., Powershell, Python, Go, Appscript, etc.,)
  • Good grasp of Infosec policies in data/credential management/handling and access control
  • Experience with Azure, Active Directory, OpenLDAP, Jumpcloud, Okta Universal Directory
  • Ability to demonstrate a methodical and effective approach to projects and deadlines
  • Familiarity with Audio Visual conferencing/event tools and (e.g., Lifesize, Zoom, and BlueJeans)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills (documentation, how-tos, etc.,)
  • Highly detail-oriented and excellent time management
  • Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to prioritize amongst competing tasks in a fast-paced, idea-rich environment
  • Strong team player; eager to share knowledge and build awareness 
  • Experience and application of ITSM or ITIL principles
